    1. I have to start by saying I am a devoted DP fan All her books are on my keeper shelf. This one was a huge disappointment to me The dialogue was silly and dated There was no real conflict other than a nasty ex boyfriend and no chemistry or sexual tension between the Cappie and Bentley Usually I like to savor her books, but I just wanted this one to be over. When I first bought it, I thought it would be a good onea nice and lengthy addition to the series The main story is only 199 pages long The res [...]

    2. For any of you who have read DP before, or are fans of her, you won t find any surprises in the new LTT book, or the bonus book reissue of Passion Flower added to this edition You pretty much get what you expect from any DP book I didn t mind either story, but neither captured me as some of her other books have.Series Note It s hard to say you should read this series in order because there are so many books But I will say I think you d benefit from having read the other books in the series, or a [...]

    3. Diana Palmer had a lot to say in this book about medical insurance benefits, domestic violence and the judicial system, the HALO game, highlights from the other books in the series, etc There were some good moments, the obligatory nasty misunderstanding, the obligatory virginal heroine I DO NOT MIND THIS, BTW I WISH I HAD BEEN ABLE TO GIFT MY DH WITH THE SAME , mercenaries, etc etc.You ll notice that I haven t spoken much about the main characters Bentley and Cappie We really didn t start gettin [...]

This was ok but not great Bentley wasn t quite the ass he was in earlier books, however, he did have a wonderfully jerk moment Perhaps he had his reasons but I didn t buy them. The ping pong conversation my new favorite saying was a bit much in this one The camradarie felt forced in this book It just didn t feel natural to me and it took away from enjoying the book.I honestly don t recall DP books being so PG perhaps even G rated Goodness Even after they re married the bedroom door is closed.Anyw [...]

AverageNothing new or exciting in this book It s like any other Diana Palmer Texan novel The story line carries the same synopsis for all her Texas books wealthy handsome hero and a financially challenged hard working heroine with some baggage who falls for each other The girl gets some insult the guy has a shot fuse and they fight, make up, resolve issues and live happily ever after.e end

    17. This book was definitely TAME compared to other books by Diana Palmer In this book we are reintroduced to Dr Bentley Rydell, the cranky veterinarian who we first met in Heart of Stone the story of Keely Welsh and Boone Sinclair Like all Long Tall Texans, Bentley is rich but he is not cattleman like the typical Diana Palmer male protagonist Bentley Rydell although extremely cranky and mean to people, gets along swimmingly with animals Yet Bentley, a self professed woman hater, begins to persue Ca [...]

    20. Bently and Cappie Well, not my fave by this author, but still entertaining Bently is one of Ms Palmer s milder heroes, until he pulls a completely delicious asshat move 2 3 into the story Way over the top Cappie is an assistant at Bently s vet practice Unlike the usual formula, she isn t attracted to him at first, but even kind of afraid of him This is partly due to a terrible experience she had from her ex boyfriend, Frank Slowly Bently becomes aware of Cappie and finds himself wanting to get c [...]

    21. Two very interesting stories The first is Tough to Tame and it s connected to some other stories written by the author It s not necessary to have read the other stories What s interesting is the premise of a brother who s injured and a sister who believes one story about how he was injured and then there s the truth which floats around mysteriously throughout the tale The romance involves the sister and her boss who becomes her love interest and how he is involved with the truthful side of the b [...]

    22. Yet another installment of the Long Tall Texans series, this book describes the hilariously fast courtship of veterinarian Dr Bently Rydel and vetertinary technician Cappie seriously Drake Romances, by nature, are repetitive in their plotlines or stories This book is no exception There s humor, however unintentional, of the residents of the small Texas town of Jacobsville Cappie, 23, seems to be relatively stable However, she does have a jerkish ex boyfriend who causes problems, and a handicappe [...]

    26. Tough to finishI chose to read this story because the synopsis described it as a book about a lonely, cranky, hot vet What is turned out to be was extremely boring and uneventful The veterinary care was the most interesting part of the story and even that couldn t hold my attention I couldn t wait to finish what seemed like the longest ten chapters of my life And good griefCappie Although Palmer is known for giving her female leads names that are atypical of everyday, why in the world Palmer cho [...]

I won this book courtesy of the GoodReads giveaways and I was so happy because I love Diana Palmer s books and this was the only one I had not read The one thing I love about her stories is that they seem never ending she always has characters from other books in every story so that they don t get left behind in their lives I loved the chemistry between Bentley and Cappie although the story lines with Ms.Palmer s books are starting to run together when you can predict how a book will go is prett [...]

    28. This is Dr Rydel s story Cappie s kind of scared of Bentley Rydel, her boss He s a smart vet but very cold person And Cappie tried to work as far as she could from him Until one day her car s wrecked and Bentley, out of blue, helped her out She see his gentleness Dr Rydel s tough one I remember when he yelled at Keely in previous book, but it turns out he s the simplest guy I ve ever read from Diana Palmer Every Hero in her story used to be mercenary or Texas rangers But Bentley s simple vet and [...]

    29. Why do I keep reading Diana Palmer I know the formula and it works when you just need a good old damsel in distress romance She keeps everything old fashioned ultra manly men and untouched, naive women who need to be rescued This should offend my modern sensibilities but I cut my teeth on her books and still have a place in my romance reading heart for her books I do, however, have an issue with the fact that she gives too much explanation about her characters I don t need to be reminded every t [...]
