    About Susan May Warren

    1. I can t help be amazed at the gifts God has delighted me with a wonderful husband, four amazing children, and the opportunity to write for Him.I ve been writing as long as I can remember I won my first book writing contest in first grade Over the years, writing has become, for me, a way to praise God and see Him at work in my life.Although I have a degree in Mass Communications from the University of MN, my real writing experience started when I penned the The Warren Report a bi monthly newsletter that detailed our ministry highlights.Living in Russia meant I never lacked for great material and those experiences naturally spilled out first into devotionals and magazine articles and finally into my first published story, Measure of a Man, in the Tyndale HeartQuest, Chance Encounters of the Heart anthology.Susan and husbandI grew up in Wayzata, a suburb of Minneapolis, and became an avid camper from an early age My favorite fir lined spot is the north shore of Minnesota it s where I met my husband, honeymooned and dreamed of living The north woods easily became the foundation for my first series, The Deep Haven seriessed on a little tourist town along the shores of Lake Superior I have to admit I m terribly jealous of Mona, the heroine of my first full length book, Happily Ever After, a Christy Award Finalist published in 2004 with Tyndale Heartquest. Our family moved home from the mission field in June 2004 and now we live in the beautiful town I d always dreamed of God has amazed me anew with His provision, and blessings and allowed me a season when I can write full time for Him.I m delighted you ve stopped in to visit My hope is that you ll be blessed and encouraged by soul stirring stories of regular people interacting with a God who loves them.I d love to hear from you I love getting mail, especially from readers and I welcome your questions and comments Write to me at susan susanmaywarren And, if you re interested, sign up for my newsletter, a quarterly sneak peek into upcoming releases and projects Thank you for your interest and support.God Bless and Happy Reading In His Grip,Susan May Warren

    1. This has to be one of the best books I have read this year And PJ Sugar is the perfect heroine I just loved this novel, it was funny, charming, a neat love story and characters that quickly infuse themselves into your day PJ Sugar wants to be a PI, but everywhere she turns trouble abounds, screaming chinchillas, a Russian in law involved in a car theft ring, and an attempted kidnapping involving smelly gym socks The dialogue in this book really keeps the reader riveted, it s snazzy and to the po [...]

    3. PJ Sugar is a girl so many of us can identify She desperately wants to find something she s good at and to chart the course of her life She sees trouble where there might not be any, but sometimes those instincts can pay off which is a good thing for a private investigator. Her love life is in a bit of a pickle right now as well She s torn between comfortable, familiar Boone, who has asked her to marry him, and Jeremy, her sultry, mysterious boss On the surface it can be easy not to feel sorry fo [...]

    4. I loved this book PJ Sugar is one of my favorite characters of all time and this is such a fun read She s curious, funny, and just can t seem to say out of trouble Plus, PJ is dealing with the attention from both Boone and Jeremy, and trying to figure out where she stands in God s eyes There were many moments where I found myself laughing out loud at the antics that PJ was getting into, yet I could also relate to her with her struggles to understand God s unconditional love for her Love PJ Love [...]

    6. So, I haven t read the first book in the PJ Sugar series it was supposed to be sent to me to read before this blog tour, but it wasn t, so I ended up not reading it As such, it took me a while to get into this second book in the series I felt confused through the beginning, not understanding what was present and what was a flashback In the end, everything was explained, and this could theoretically be a stand alone novel, but I think you re probably better off if you read the first one first You [...]

What is love One thing PJ does discover is that love is than a feeling Susan May Warren has created a honest, humorous and smart heroine in PJ, who constantly seems to be tripping over her own feet and making promises that she can t keep The sparks between PJ and Jeremy fly right off the page and will have readers just as torn between Boone and Jeremy as PJ is PJ is out to prove she has what she can to become a real investigator She s determined to do whatever it takes to get the job done I als [...]

    9. I needed something lighter to read, then Susan May Warren s Double Trouble came in the mail The blurb on the back quotes another author Lori Copeland saying the dead on characterization always makes me laugh It sounded good to me, and was good too Just what I needed in fact.PJ Sugar is reinventing herself as a private detective well, private detective s assistant to be precise She has a history that makes living back home a little difficult, and romantic ties to the local policeman I d know abo [...]

    10. Well first off, Susan May Warren is one of my favorite authors she never fails to push me with her characters and bring out issues that effect me spiritually or thoughts that I need to deal with in the midst of sleuthing and adventure in this book She makes reading fun I love that I feel like I m reading about a friend or rather that I m just lost in the book so much that I m talking with a friend, or that I m part of the story to me, that makes a great book. Now this actual book lol oh that PJ S [...]

    12. From my blog return return Double Trouble takes up where Nothing But Trouble leaves off, with PJ training to become a Private Investigator and working alongside Jeremy Kane, PI However, Susan May Warren makes the book easy enough to follow for those readers who have yet to read her first PJ Sugar novel, Nothing But Trouble However, I strongly recommend reading the novels in order as it allows, in my opinion, for a better understanding of the dynamics between the characters as well as the growth [...]

    17. While a fun read, I did not enjoy Double Trouble as much as its predecessor The characters weren t as lovable this time around I had expected from the love triangle between PJ, Boone, and Jeremy since they showed great chemistry in the first book Boone came across as a tad needier than expected, but I suppose in good reason since PJ did not immediately respond to his proposal Jeremy, on the other hand, gets brownie points for discussing Roman Holiday with PJ in a philosophical manner Yet I thin [...]

    18. I ve long been a fan of Susan May Warren s writing and I think I can safely say that this PJ Sugar series has risen to the top becoming my favorite of all her book series Though the Josey books are a close second, but I digress. The thing I love most about PJ is that she s a girl who just can t seem to see herself as God does Still, she is growing and understanding a little all the time that the fun, crazy, good intentioned, but fully human girl that she is, is all part of who God designed her t [...]

    20. The was a great quick feel good quick read The characters were well developed I loved PJ and numerous times laughed out loud because of her impulsive behavior maybe it reminds me of some of my college days with fantastic roommates I loved the quirky different characters and developed relationships they had with each other A romance with some other drama is always a fun read on my list This book is free from bad language, violence non graphic is minimal , and there is some kissing.

    22. With this novel, like the first, I was SO torn along with PJ about the two male leads I wanted her to pick Jeremy so badly that I just had to finish reading as soon as possible suffice it to say, I was definitely pleased The book was great, we get to see of the quirky PJ and see her grow into the private eye we all knew she would be since book 1 I really enjoyed it, but as I will review later, book 3 was my FAVORITE of the entire series

    24. Frothy fun, but I like that Warren writes about messy girls and even makes me laugh at those of us who try too hard The mystery element isn t that complicated, but then that s not why someone is going to pick this up Good light escapism.

    25. did not like as much as the first one It just seemed like a lot of hijinks and a couple of Bible verses tossed in to keep in in the christian fiction genre Where the first one had a lot to offer with quirky characters and backstory to flesh out the plot this one just fell short for me.
