    1. The Marco Tobias Ax dreamtime shines in this novel as Jake decides it s time to alert the governor of California and the Armed Forces of the alien invasion, and sends a small team with finesse to do so while the other wreak havoc all over town to keep the Yeerks busy. The first half of the book is dedicated to Marco and Tobias fighting morphed Yeerks, adding Ax and acquiring ducks for their flight to the capital They all wonder why they haven t morphed ducks for long distance travel before, and q [...]

    2. Okay look I have to ask, again view spoiler what total failure of the imagination makes the yeerks, now that they have the morphing cube, NOT USE IT ON THEMSELVES Why would they give that power to their HOST bodies making them harder to restrain whilst kandrona raying at the pool when they could give it to THEMSELVES Make your own sluggy parasitic limitations go away with just a little bit of will and thought Talk about the solution to the problem of being a parasite staring them in the face hid [...]

    3. This book is surprisingly good I mean, all Animorphs books are good, but this book is somewhat unique We re basically at all out war The Animorphs have all gone into hiding Things are really bad and we re not in the early, shenanigans days any longer And yet, hijinks ensue This book is full of hijinks Ax, Tobias, and Marco bumble their way all through California, driving multiple vehicles badly, dropping tubas on people, and generally doing ridiculous things It s fun Oddly so Yes, stakes are hig [...]

    4. Finally, the moment came for Marco Tobias Ax to show off some finesse xDIn this book, these boys had really grown up I am not worried about these three, but I am very worried about Jake Man, the burden.Marco got the governor on our Team Humanity s side Finally, someone who has authority.I would also like to give attention to how the women of this series are doing They re doing great The governor is a woman She s a woman, guys Rachel approves Oh well I can t say much any I m too tensed I m about [...]

    6. Ghostwriter Lisa Harkrader Her specialty seems to be explosive action, considering the craziness in Cassie s Outback Adventures and also this one, because the action is RIDICULOUS and Michael Bay esque and honestly a little hilarious Like, the mental image of view spoiler Marco, Tobias, and Ax kidnapping the governor, screeching away in a limo, Tobias Hork Bajir head sticking up out of the torn roof, Marco as a gorilla, and Ax trying to bow reverentially to the governor mid chase I CAN T hide sp [...]

    7. There s just no way to talk about this without spoiling some major points for the end of the series, even in a little recap of what this book is about Being as vague as I can be, the Animorphs are doing a divide and conquer mission to reach the U.S authorities before the Yeerks do, and hope that they make it in time view spoiler In this Marco narrated installment, Jake passively, yet forcefully, lets Cassie know that he does not trust her after the Tom and morphing cube episode in the woods And [...]

    8. This story is told through Marco s eyes The Animorphs are trying to find allies in the human world since loosing the morphing cube Ax, Tobias, and Marco go on a distraction mission to get the governor This is the first story in a few where the missions go towards the Animorphs Only three books left should be a thrilling conclusion.

    9. The Animorphs decide to split into two teams to deal with the probable infiltration of the National Guard Jake asks Marco to take Ax and Tobias on a mission to see their state s governor so they can get military resources committed and compete now that all out war is imminent The group manages to get duck morphs, flies to the capitol, and tracks down the governor s mansion They get into a limo as roaches, to find out what event the governor is going to, and find that it s some fundraising event [...]

    10. Here the Animorphs have to decide to let the world know we re in a war and we re losing it But what choice do they have when the enemy has their most precious weapon and they re about to take over the National Guard Notable moments and inconsistencies This book is ghostwritten by Lisa Harkrader. It s been noted before, but up to this point it s still unclear as to how Yeerks could morph into a bird if the bird s skull is not large enough to house their bodies Unless the Yeerk was changing with t [...]

    11. The Absolute This is a fine book It s well written It just didn t do much for me It s almost all action with a little bit of story bookending it Luckily the story that is there packs a punch Just a couple of notes under the cutMarco continues to be a bad driver I love it Marco is right, why didn t they acquire a migratory bird sooner We ll never know.It should take them a little longer than half a morning that to reach the capitol Still unable to morph clothing like Jake and Tobias did in The Re [...]

    12. The Absolute is a typical Marco book, which means a lot of action and a lot of humor The war is ratcheting up, made difficult now that the Yeerks have the blue morphing cube Jake is still morose and outright hostile to Cassie National Guard troops are streaming towards the capital, and the Animorphs know that means that there has been Yeerk infiltration To stop it, they need to get the governor on their side, and that will take the Animorphs usual brand of finesse The end is near

    13. Granted, this is a fun read It s full of crazy action sequences and mostly drama free Animorph character interaction And because it is narrated by Marco, its style is a good mix of thoughtful and direct Beyond expanding the war to include military support, however, this book does very little for the plot of the overall series Considering it is only three books from the end, this doesn t make much sense.

    14. Review written sometime before April 24, 2015The Absolute by Katherine ApplegateWhy I read it My book club is reading the series right now.Rating 2 5What I thought I liked the governor, but ultimately this was just boring, generic, and tedious, taking way too long to get going and not really going to all that great a place once it did so.

The action in this book was ridiculous I LOVED IT I would pay anything to see it in live action Marco Tobias is the best team Plus Ax TEAM FINESSE And I loved the Governor She is amazing Things have been so intense and gloomy lately This was a breath of fresh air Some of the best humor in the whole series.

    16. In The Absolute the Governor, and subsequently the world, is informed about the Yeerk invasion Now that national military forces can be used, the war against the Yeerks doesn t seem so impossible.

    17. Other than the governor character, I think the book was pretty lame To call a book written by Marco lame it is not something cool However, the governor message it s a surprise and a nice cherry on top of that puddle of mud.

    18. I do not know how I ever would have survived junior high without this fantastic science fiction series Maybe the story quality went down as the book numbers got higher, but the idea that aliens were invading our planet secretly it was almost good enough for a young teenager to believe.
