    About Werner Stejskal

    1. Born in Vienna, Austria, I am now living in the paradise of Perth, Australia with my wife, two married children and three grandchildren I worked many years in the printing industry and later for the United Nations in Vienna My wife had been a pen friend, whom I visited in Hong Kong and finally got married to After an eventful life, finally retired, I began to write children s stories, had them illustrated through Odesk, narrated them myself for YouTube and finally published the ebooks on most platforms I will publish 20 books with three stories each in English, before translating into several other languages My dream is to see Oliver and Jumpy animated as a TV series.

    1. Oliver and Jumpy stories start with few words and many pictures But now the series nears its end, with fewer pictures and many words It seems appropriate as you imagine a child growing up with these tales, and the pictures are still delightful Plus the stories are fun.Kitty in the well gets a whole new spin when Oliver s new friend Froggy wants a wife, but the growing child might wonder, where do stories really come from Oliver tells of a cupboard filled with bottles containing unwritten stories [...]

    2. NOTE The author informed me that this book was available for free on and asked me to write a review.Over the past several months, I have had the opportunity to read and review several books by Australian author Werner Stejskal, who has written a series of illustrated children s tales documenting the adventures of Oliver, a cat, and his best friend Jumpy, a kangaroo I ll be the first to admit that I don t spend much time around children in the target age range for Stejskal s books, so I ve strugg [...]

    3. This is text than pictures for once, about the process of writing the fun tales Oliver the cat has a dream about being down a deep well with a frog to start then he tells us about ideas floating around in the air, catching them and writing them down to read So anyone can share their adventures in this way This is still a nice read and we see the animals harvesting fruit, and eating themselves silly But it s not so full of adventure and character as usual.

    9. For fans of Oliver, the elegant tomcat, and his two kangaroo friends, Jumpy and Joey, this book is bittersweet It is the last book in the adventures of these unlikely friends Unlike the other books this one contains five stories instead of three Reyes does a marvelous job with the illustrations There is one major difference in this last edition, there is a lot text While the entire series is appropriate for preschoolers and children in early elementary grades, this one is a bit challenging and [...]
