    1. I m still having a great time with these books and feel no compulsion to go anywhere else But why Because I m grinding, man I m grinding I don t even care what I m grinding for I m performing skills and tasks and taking on all my automatic quests and I m loving it Sure, it s sometimes a bit difficult, but the glory is all in the discovery How can I make my character not just powerful, but uber powerful and insanely powerful and should I go the demi lich route or become an epic enchanter or just [...]

    2. Not the best of the seriesI m a huge fan of The Land and will continue to purchase the series of books However, this most recent release cannot be considered a book It is long true, much longer than others in the series It is packed with information, I will say perhaps too much detail at times But what really holds this release back from being a book is the lack of basic storytelling guidelines These aren t a suggestion They are needed to provide the reader a basic feeling of being fulfilled at [...]

    3. Lately I have read plenty of books of this subcategory called RPG Literature In the past there were some fantasy books that were the result of RPG games but it was not evident in the book I truly enjoy these new books where the RPG rules are made evident However I think that RPGLit is, first of all, literature and thus has to have an argument The book Swarm is about grinding and only about grinding For the ones that are not used to these kind of terms, grinding in a RPG game is about engaging on [...]

    6. I had this series in my to read list for a good while, but I kept putting it aside and choosing something else because I don t play RPG games and I assumed I wouldn t understand or enjoy it much But, I WAS SOO WRONG You guys, this series is so fun Just a couple of weeks in and I am already on book 5 I cannot put it down Book 1 is amazing, but they keep getting better The story is packed with action, not drawn out and wordy Where I am at right now in book 5, the main character has only been in th [...]

    7. 3.5 to 4 Stars, glad I found this series and will continue I do have some small issues with some parts of the book series but for the most part I have found it enjoyable and entertaining The series as a whole is really pushing into the 4 star rating for me.

    8. 1.In the novel, The Land Swarm, by Aleron Kong, the author s narrative writing style is in third person, and he makes different people and dialogues blend together very well He clearly establishes the arguments by constantly having the character reflect on what is happening and to set up his next plan of action The author keeps a clear direction and does not stray from the storyline he keeps with the feelings of characters and has them flow effortlessly into the next one s thoughts or actions Th [...]

    9. I m not sure what has changed but I just don t enjoy this series any First two books were great but this one and the one preceding it were almost like a chore Can t wait to finish so I can go read something else Could be because of the main character who s slowly getting and annoying but other than that doesn t seem to grow much Could be the at times over the top dialogue and pop culture references Or could it be that the plot just seems stagnant and without much of a direction. There are sever [...]

    11. The Land Swarm is the fifth and next to last book in the Chaos Seed series written by Aleron Kong This book, as with all the earlier ones, is delightfully narrated by Nick Podehl His narrating skills adds a level of detail one would never get by simply reading the book It is a Literary Role Playing Game LitRPG genre where we are given a view into the main character s activities, actions, and struggles As with the previous books, this book continues the growth of or main character and the utopian [...]

    12. More than any book so far in the series, this one feels like Kong s wish fulfillment power fantasy Very little happens during this book and, just like the last book, the title has nothing to do with the story No, this book, after quickly rapping up the cliff hanger of the last book, turns into Point Allocation the book.Look, I m quite fond of the RPG mechanics Kong has built into his story, they are great and well thought out, but it needs to be used sparingly I don t need chapters of picking an [...]

    13. Dr Kong continues to deliver the MMORPG world and write a believable young adult male character The addition of paramours is interesting and likely necessary due to the protagonist I was hesitant when sex and sexuality was introduced but given that it doesn t devolve in to soft porn it doesn t detract from the overall story It is inevitable that a young male s thoughts will turn to hooking up and some might say that dropping it in later in the story line doesn t work but I would disagree Richter [...]

    14. Went downhill as series progressedThe series started out really well and i really enjoyed the first book But each subsequent book got and sophomoric and crass A little swearing for emphasis turned into swearing all the time A little sexual intrigue turned into threesomes, homosexuality, lesbians, and sexual innuendos i havent heard since i was in my teensEARLY teens The story was pretty good but all the garbage weighed it down and just killed the series for me I cant imagine how female readers [...]

    15. I have my likes and disappointments with this book Mainly this is starting to feel like a slice of life series Kong goes in depth with his book, building upon his world s game like mechanics, some of it is cool while other parts of this book are lacking. Before you buy this book I have to say that the sub title is very misleading, I thought this was going to be about the eaters, the demonic maggot things that eat everything We glimpsed at them before but didn t really go into depth about them K [...]

    16. I ve just entered into reading into the LitRPG genre, and while the idea is novel, and the repetition of information necessary for the mechanics for the genre It s also annoying.I m getting annoyed by the shifting formatting between books, and the poor editorial oversight and errors that seem to be and common as the series has progressed. Also, while I suspect nobody would be jumping into the series at book 3, 4, or 5 I ve noticed a tendency to not do the traditional recap of characters featur [...]

    17. And so the saga continues I thought I had enough of Richter and his MMO shenanigans. The huge elephant on the inventory sheet is WHAT THE HELL IS THE BACK STORY Is it an online game Is the whole universe an online game and the Earth players have been kicked to a sh tty server Have the NPCs taken over Does Aleron Kong have a the answers or is he an NPC writing a book in a virtual world thinking he s a real person The book concludes with a cliff hanger, literally So perhaps one wafer thin installm [...]

    18. this yet another in the line of great books by Mr Kong while i actually listened to the audible edition of the book, it does not take away the fun writing style of the father of the litrpg genera the book, really the entire series, takes familiar concepts most of us know from gaming and applies both them and common slang and applies them seamlessly into a wonderful fantasy experience i cant wait for the next book to release on audio so i can continue my journey into the land and remember Gnomes [...]

    19. Not as strong as the previous onesI found him not as likable in this book He s much obsessed with power and pleasure If this is intentional and he descends further into depravity, then I ll change it to a 5, if it s just accidental and caused by an obsession with numbers, then you ve lost me He just seems a lot harder and to treat people as bonuses instead of people He seems to do things for the min maxing than for other reasons I didn t find this theme as strong in the earlier books.

    20. No the humanity, why must i wait Now the wait begins I was able to read this book and all the previous books back to back However, now I will have to wait Once again like the last book I not sure about the title It really did not have anything to do with the swarm It is very misleading I wonder if the author had titles pickled out then decided to go a different direction Either way the story and I can t wait for the next book to come out.

    21. PoorThis book is a self indulgent mess I could put up with the juvenile humour, coarse language and lack of likeable characters if there was a decent storyline but there isn t Nothing particularly exciting or memorable happens in the book It is really just gaining new talents or skills and advancing levels Much better storylines, characters and humour in this genre Last book I will read by this author.

    22. Though a bit slower than the ones before, I think it was a great time for it A lot done with building the Mist Village than just going out and battling monsters and it was a great change of pace I am still LOVING Richter, Sion and Alma and OMG book 6 is out on audio today Was thinking about waiting til book 7 is closer to being released, but I think I d rather just jump back into the story D

    25. I enjoyed the book and might have given it a higher rating if there wasn t so much cursing by the main character I got to ask the author about his use of foul language and Aleron Kong commented that he wanted his characters to be everyman I m not certain which everyman he means as me and my friends never curse.

Aleron does it again An amazingly addictive series from start to finish There are few series I have read that I enjoy reading over and over again This is one of them The characters are charismatic and reading it gives you a sense that you are along for the ride, sharing their adventures right along with them

I understand the need to develop the land and provide context to the way of life of the characters but all of the exciting story lines and feuds from past books have not been intertwined This lacked a full and complete story In each of the other books I found myself excited to begin the next one, after this one I decided to take a break.

    30. Aes Sedai last book , Firefly and Ghostbusters There s nothing wrong with the modern culture references Except, of course, that Richter is supposed to be 24 and not 38 The book could easily have been named The Land Grinding instead.
