    About River Fairchild

    1. River Fairchild is somewhat odd, brandishes a dry sense of humor, owned by several cats Lives in a fantasy world A fabricator of magic Makes stuff up and spins tales about it Believes in Faerie crossings and never staying in one place for very long Speculative Fiction wordsmith The secret to her stories Spread lies, blend in truths, add a pinch of snark and a dash of tears Escape into her world She left the porch light on so you can find your way down the rabbit hole.

    2. Diamonds and Dust is the first novel in River Fairchild s fantasy series, Jewels of Chandra I greatly enjoyed reading this book Fairchild has created a compelling alternate world.Humans as well as other intelligent but exotic characters inhabit this one Some of the humans have fallen into Chandra from earth One of those is a 25 year old archaeology student, David Alexander, who steps into a cave he suspects will take him there. He s on a quest to find his father, who s been missing for the last s [...]

    3. With hints of The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe, crossed with Game of Thrones perhaps, River Fairchild s Diamonds and Dust introduces readers to a beautifully imagined magical world, where women weave powers for men to wield, and satyrs are just one of the strange creatures yet to be met.Shaylar itself is a fallen kingdom, its jewel and its magic long lost The kingdoms of men strive to keep the magic going, while neighboring realms waver between wanting power for themselves and wanting balanc [...]

    4. Diamonds and Dust is like a beautiful tapestry, rich with fascinating characters in a fanciful, magical world The story starts out firmly rooted in reality Newfoundland reality, as a matter of fact which I love I am always drawn to stories that take place on Canada s Rock It isn t long before the real world disappears into the realm of fantasy, a world in which satyrs and magic are so commonplace that no one, except for the human hero, blinks an eye Author River Fairchild has done an outstanding [...]
