    2. Try Not to Die At Grandma s House is the story of a young man named David and his family It s a tragedy and an adventure It s also a create your own story book Unfortunately, I do not know the actual name of the genre It s a youth and young adult story, written in first person, present tense. The premise At first we find David and his family in a debate David has a strong albeit precocious voice The author succeeded in portraying his personality well in the prose Mom, Dad, David and little sister [...]

    3. I received this book through a giveaway for First Reads I enjoyed this book than I probably should have This book is perfect for anyone who ever read or had read to them any of the Choose You Own Adventure series I was immediately transported back at least 15 years ago to when I read those series of books to my young children As I did then, I did again with Try Not to Die at Grandma s House I got totally immersed into the storyline and did my job of picking an ending, following it through to th [...]

    4. Growing up I loved reading Choose Your Own Adventures so I was excited to read a modern version While I enjoyed the story and the characters, I just couldn t get over the fact there was only one right answer to every decision you make The description on the back of the book does not lie when it says, One misstep will get you and your sister killed I d prefer if there were a few paths to follow before the characters ultimate demise Instead it seemed like a book full of gruesome ways to kill off [...]

    5. This is a YA choose your own ending book with various scenarios to go through and is the first in a series The book is creepy enough for kids to love with some great graphics thrown in I went down the various options to see what would happen and while I made some bad choices it was fun to do There is some gore when you choose certain paths but not over the top for kids and well written enough for adults, like me, to enjoy as well It s a great book for Halloween, a fun read and I recommend it for [...]

    6. This was a fun book to listen to.Kailaan Carter does a swell job with her character voices in this tale. Two kids are packed off to their Grandparents house after the death of their parents. They don t want to go and once there they keep trying to get away.Unfortunately the only way off the farm seem to be to die in horrible ways.I believe this is a choose your ending type book in paper. On audio it is a bit weird but still fun to hear all the ways they use to leave Grandmas house. This audiobook wa [...]

    7. This book was fun, the story was enjoyable and I would recommend it, especially for young adults It is not however, a graphic novel There are too few illustrations to garner that title In addition, the illustrations appear to be color paintings that do not always translate well to black and white printing That said, this is an awesome illustrated pick your own ending book.
