Four and a half stars and because I m a glass half full kind of girl, I ll bump it up to 5 NowThis book came to me out of the blue through a recommendation and I wondered at the time how it was possible to be recommended this book when the person who did so clearly understood I am an author of fiction with adult content.I mean, what business would I have providing a review of a children s book, one might ask But I d like to rise to the challenge, so first let me explain my credentials and why I [...]

    2. Young Abby was watching cartoons when the flies buzzing around the television set became too much for her Sneaking into the kitchen for the fly spray and swat, she decided she would kill those darn flies But her Dad was hiding behind his newspaper, and told her she wasn t to kill the flies, that he wanted to tell her a story instead. So began the story of Patrick the Cicada and his friends in the back garden, who stood up to a bullying Parakeet called Leslie The story of a television set, the Oly [...]

    3. In compliance with FTC guidelines I received the book for free through First Reads. The story is cute to a degree and tries to teach a lesson about both bulling and the environment.Sadly I felt like the main character and his friends were bigger bullies than the bullies they stood up to.The story is low brow There are poop parties and a lot of farting I would imagine many children would find this very funny. The word damn appears four times in the text so it is maybe not the most appropriate book [...]

    9. This is the story about a cicada and other creatures who accidently get on the bad side of a group of birds By trying to get revenge on each other, something catastrophic happens There is only one way to fix this situation It will require a sacrifice Read to find out what must be sacrificed and if it is enough to bring everyone together.
