    1. It pains me to rate this book 3 stars, because I have previously enjoyed both books Elise Ackers wrote And though my rating may not tell you this, I actually absolutely loved this little book. However, I m not sure if it s meant to be a novella 130 pages, something around 1700 of those Kindle locations which is just not a book to me , or a book because it says A Homeland Book on the front Basically, it was neither here, nor there, and for that it suffered in content though not at all in quality o [...]

    2. When Ethan Foster returned home for Bree s funeral, everyone expected him to leave straight afterwards, as was normal for him His brother Dean was devastated by his wife s death, and their children Nina and Rowan were having a hard time of it as well Ethan had abruptly left town at age 18, two years after their parents death, leaving behind many friends who couldn t understand his actions He returned for special events the birth of Rowan, and again for Nina s birth, but always left in a hurry Bu [...]

    4. I have previously read and enjoyed The Man Plan by Elise K Ackers a sweet, lighthearted contemporary romance Ask Me To Stay, the first novella in a new series by the author, is quite different with less emphasis on the romantic relationship between the protagonists.Ethan Foster left home at eighteen without any explanation, deserting the brother who raised him after the tragic death of their parents and his childhood sweetheart, Samantha O Hara In the past ten years or so he has returned only a [...]

    5. I put off reading this after I got the galley because I thought his would be yet another lightweight romance Instead, Ask Me To Stay is a much substantive book than I expected The romance is second to Ethan s struggles with his brother Dean Ethan returns home for his sister in law s funeral having left town at 18 and rarely looking back His family feels abandoned by him and they accept his presence grudgingly after it appears he s going to stay longer than his usual overnight visit The writing [...]

    6. Ethan Foster left town and his older brother Dean when he was eighteen two years after the death of his parents and has only been back for a handful of short, unsatisfying visits The last time he was here it was for the opening of his sister in law Bree s shop now he s back for her funeral At thirty two, a tragic accident has robbed her of her life and left her two children, Rowan and Nina, alone with their father, Dean No one expects Ethan to stay or to even be there the next day, and watching [...]

    7. Featuring the stories Ask Me To Stay, Ask Me For More and Ask Me For Tomorrow In Ask Me To Stay, family tragedy has brought Ethan Foster back home to the small town of Hinterdown where he grew up In the past decade, since he walked out, he s only been back a handful of times and never for long However with his brother and his niece and nephew needing him than never, Ethan finds himself wondering if there s a place for him back in Hinterdown after all Especially when Sam O Hara, his teenage swee [...]

    8. Kat s ReviewThis is a touching story about family coming together when they re needed most It s marketed as a romance, but I think it s of a family drama with the romantic element secondary to the main story That s not a bad thing, because the family story of the estranged brother returning to help his older brother deal with the sudden loss of his wife was engrossing in itself Ethan disappeared a few years after the death of his parents, leaving his brother Dean feeling as though he failed in [...]

    9. I have enjoyed previous titles of Elise K Ackers from contemporary romance The Man Plan Unforgettable to romantic suspense Small Town Storm and was pleasantly surprised to find her stray from a traditional romance story in her new novella series, Ask Me To Stay It s very much a family drama with a romantic sub plot The story displays emotional depth with many scenes that held an emotional punch through the setting of mood and short, poignant sentences and dialogue surrounding the characters Told [...]

    10. Ask Me to Stay is a story about tragedies, love and a very dark hidden secret Ethan returns to his very small, close knit hometown for his sister in law s funeral Everyone expects him to leave before the day ends, but he stays, slowly working his way back into a community that had effectively shunned him when he abruptly left over a decade ago In the process, he reconnects with Sam, the girlfriend he left behind and her brother his old friend Cal Ethan also works his way into the hearts of his n [...]

    11. The book is short and I would say it is about unresolved issues from the past, a story about a new start, second chance, than exactly a romance novel. The story starts at a funeral and the return of Ethan after being away for 10 years. He was a persona non grata and everyone expected him to leave as soon as the funeral was over, but he stayed And this is permanence, having to prove how much he had changed, that the people of the city came to accept it or not.Especially Sam, the girlfriend he aban [...]

    12. This is a tender story of a man, Ethan, trying to redeem himself, but he came across as a big jerk at first When his brother s wife suddenly dies, he finds himself back home Usually, instead of facing his problems, he would run and hide, but now it s different WHY is it different this time It seems like he was always trying to drown his sorrows in a drink and was often borderline drunk Then SNAP He s changed People in town were so rude to him, but once the secret came out, they changed their att [...]

    13. I had gotten an ARC from netgalley and this is my 100% honest review This book was very disappointing Even from the beginning it was very boring I was hoping there would be excitement towards the middle or at least the end of the book but nothing The description of the story is very misleading I thought that this would be a love story between Ethan and Sam but it was about Ethan and his family It also said that Sam wanted nothing to do with Ethan but she seemed to have no problem being around [...]

    16. I think this is listed under romance, but its of a character study on grief and forgiveness Ethan has a HUGE secret that ran him out of his beloved hometown a decade ago Ethan returns for the funeral of his sister in law His presence serves to shake up the norm of his older, now widowed, brother, his grieving niece and nephew, his first love and her brother who was Ethan s old best friend Its all of their story on how love is rebuilt between all of them romantic love, familial love, friendship [...]

    17. I really enjoyed the book part of me wants to say it was a good old fashioned romance, but it was about than that was about family and the means you will go to to protect them, it was about healing and moving forward, and then it was about love the beginning was a little rough getting into it, just because it took a little for the story to unfold, but it was an easy read I didn t love the book but I really liked it it was sweet.a nice change tron some of the intense books I ve been reading late [...]

    19. This was a heart warming book and so very different from The Man Plan Ms Ackers has shown her versatility via the three titles she has published through Destiny Romance.Ask Me To Stay is the first of a trilogy of books based in a small Australian country town The characters are wonderful, especially young Nina who steals the show Ethan is a troubled hero and at first he doesn t seem heroic Gradually his wonderful qualities are woven into the story as he helps his niece and nephew deal with the l [...]

    20. This is a lovely little story centred in a rural Australian town While it is a romance, it is also a small town story with a lot of characters surrounding the two main characters.Ethan is back for his sister in laws funeral, yet another of the few and far between events that bring him home after he left eleven years ago.But something is different this time Ethan doesn t leave immediately as he usually does. This novella has a lot of emotional content Almost too much for such a short book These ar [...]

I loved it from the very first page. Two years after his parents death, Ethan leaves Hinterdown and only returns for special or big occasions This time is different When he comes to Hinterdown for his sister in law s funeral, he s in no rush to leave. It s a short story, but I really enjoyed it The ending seemed a bit rushed, IMHO I liked Ethan, liked his interaction with his niece and nephew, and I liked the other characters The mystery about his reasons why he was never able to stay in Hinterdow [...]

    23. I m becoming a huge fan of Elise Ackers after reading her debut romantic suspense novel, Small Town Storm Now this story and its companion novellas left me wanting The collection I read contained three connected novellas set in the same small Aussie town with a linked characters My favourite was Dean the widower sob raising two young children on his own, with support from his brother Ethan and friends I was so pleased when he got a new happily ever after to his story No spoilers from me, just a [...]

Gentle and loving story of a family dealing with grief, loss of loved ones and totally enjoyable.Ethan is back in town to attend his sister in law s funeral Everyone thinks he is no good and undependable What no one realizes is that Ethan has kept a secret since his parents died to protect his family and the town No one has ever asked him to stay or shown that they needed him to stay. This is also Samantha s story She has loved Ethan as far as she can remember Somehow, Samantha must come to terms [...]

    25. From the moment I picked this one up I couldn t put it down While the romance is of a lovely subplot, the strong family storyline really drew me in, with the mystery of Ethan s past lingering throughout the story I love how Elise K Ackers writes her leading men They re always flawed in some way, but with the best of intentions which makes them all the lovable and charming Ethan is wonderfully misunderstood, and as the story unravels you find yourself warming to him and understanding his demons [...]

    26. A few years back I read The Man Plan by Elise K Ackers I found it very sweet and charming and I gave it 4 stars Ask Me To Stay was full of the same charm but it was not quite as good as The Man Plan.I really enjoye Elise K Ackers writing Ask Me To Stay was easy to get into and easy to read but still contained some lovely detail It would be unfair to call this book a romance, it was far than that Ask me to Stay is about family, friendship and forgiveness. All the characters were fab to boot.

    27. I really enjoyed this story The characters were very engaging, the children were adorable, and the plot felt true I was a bit confused with some of the terminology since it was set in Australia but not enough to distract me from the main storyline I bought this because it was listed on the Clean Romance site, but I would still say it s not clean enough to recommend to everyone.cially young teens.

    28. First off, this book is only 130 pages so when I say it s a quick read, I really mean it That said, I really appreciate that the author didn t pad the pages with pointless dialogue or story lines. This is definitely a story about pain and loss, but it comes with a lot of hope and happiness as well I definitely found myself tearing up but was very happy with the book overall I definitely recommend it.
